A few observations

First, I would like to say how happy I am that my hair is getting long! it's very fine so growing it can be quite the process. I know you are all just as excited as I am about this, I know it!

Second, today was the first day I wore tights to work; how I love layers!

Third, I would like to talk about my sister.

We are 7 years apart, now growing up when she was in high school and I was in elementary school we were enemies, but in reality she hated me and I adored her. Anything and everything she did or had I wanted to do and if I could not have it then I would simply borrow it, without her permission. Now that you got the picture of our relationship back in the 90's, let me fast forward to a few years down the road. When I started prep school in the fall of 2003 (having a WHAT THE WHAT! SO long ago moment!) I was 14 and she was 21, and something finally clicked, it was now a mutual loving sisterly relationship that I had so longed for. I mean when I say this we were inseparable and it has stayed that way up until the current day and will always continue to be.

When I got into the real world and started to dip my toes into adult living, (for example paying my electric and heat bills), I would always look to my sister as an example of am "I EVER going to be able to do the things like you do? say cook a amazing Thanksgiving meal and have a house, etc". She would always tell me "It just kind of happens slowly and the changes are so subtle that you just ease into them not knowing that you are growing up." She really is a wise soul, that sister of mine.

Well, this morning pulling out of my driveway in my adorable little Volvo, this conversation we used to have so frequently popped into my head and it occurred to me "she was right! I'm growing up before my own eyes and I barely even realized it!" Granted, I'm still very young and have a lot of growing and learning to do and I think I will always idolize my sister and look to her for advice and sometimes she even asks me now! which is pretty rad.

As some of you are aware, my sister is pregnant with her first baby, a little baby boy. She is taking this all in with grace and big girl strides and I'm so stinkin' proud of her and the person she has become. I just hope when my time comes that J. & I are ready for children that I will look to her and she will bestow her timeless sisterly words of wisdom onto me like she has done for me a million times.

Also let me just connect statement one and statement three, sister I hate the fact you have the most think luxurious princess hair ever created which grows about four inches a week which would take me over a year annnnd better skin tone since we are on the topic.

Closing statement, I have the most wonderful sister in the world.
